You Are The Genuine Defintion

What the teacher is… is more important than what he teaches.
 ~Karl Menninger

Every one of us has a living hero to whom which we admire.  We know Wonder Woman, Flash, Superman, Batman, and Spiderman as superheroes with extraordinary strength and capabilities. But, these are just characters in the world of fiction and in thoughts of man-kind. Do we really have living heroes which shed light unto our profound existence? Of course, we all do have heroes which we keep in the innermost chamber of our hearts.

True heroism never speaks of super strength and super speed. It’s neither about invisibility nor flying capability. Rather, true heroism is on the subject of full devotion, selflessness, and sacrifice. A genuine definition that is truly and extremely apposite for our altruistic teachers.

Our teachers who are munificent of their time, talent, and knowledge are the living heroes and saviors of today’s needs and inquisitiveness. Thanks to them, we are now living in a world of learning, or should I say, a world of edifice: a preparation for tomorrow’s dreams.

My teachers are my heroes for they build us to become more of what we can be. They mold us to become better populace of our realm. They not only teach but also touch the lives of not hundreds of students but millions of us. They inspire us to do things not only for ourselves but for others. They make us bite the apples they have. They allocate whatever things or information they know. They are selfless.

The two-word “thank you” is never enough in paying back the hard works and sacrifices they’ve given. As we commemorate the Teachers’ Day Celebration, I take this opportunity in showing appreciation to our teachers in Ilocos Sur National High School and teachers around the globe. Thank you, dear teachers. WE SALUTE YOU!

Hero of my life

The characteristic of genuine heroism is its persistence. All men have wandering impulses, fits and starts of generosity. But when you have resolved to be great, abide by yourself, and do not weakly try to reconcile yourself with the world. The heroic cannot be the common, nor the common the heroic. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Everyone of us has a living hero to whom  which we admire.

My superb hero is not Superman nor Wonder Woman. She can't fly, she can't carry tonnes but she keeps me going. She has been a part of my life from me as a single-cell up to now. She made me lived to the perfect life I have at present. She keeps me smiling even problems arise. She knows when I am feeling like the world's on me. and when she does she asks what's wrong then hugs me tight. She pampered me with true love and caress. She has been giving me everything she can and have. She is my mom.

She can't carry tonnes but she carried me in her womb for nine months. She sacrificed for my life. She can't run at a very high speed but can run as fast as she could when I needed help. She can't produce web like spiderman but she can produce something for our living. She is not a perfect fictional super hero in the television but she is the only hero I could ever ask for in the entire life I have. She is my super mom. I love her!

As Henry Beecher said, the world's battlefields have been in the heart chiefly; more heroism has been displayed in the household and the closet, than on the most memorable battlefields in history. Meet the super hero of my life, my mother, Mrs. Miriam Llanes Requilman.
